Mysery loves company coz misery makes the company equally miserable. This is bcoz of the empathy. This is like an emotional contagion, though it is short lived, it is more fleeting and transient.

When your intention is so clear that you want to spread smiles, then do so. As far as your question is concerned. Misery doesn't love company, it craves for sympathy, passion and love. People become miserable as they do not believe in a free way of life. Everybody wants to satisfy somebody or the other. When people start living life the freely, they will know that there is no place for misery.

Friend pardon me , but its not misery that loves company. Miserable people tend to like company. If you look deeper misery is a state of unhapiness or stress due to different reasons. This could be divorce, finance, kids and can happen to anyone at anytime. to come out of it you need to be either independent to handle your emotions or seek company.
And thatz the reason for the cliche from the Wise men.

Some people learned very young to associate feeling sick, depressed, or whatever with positive attention, and were more or less ignored when they were doing well. This isn't implying that people fake being miserable just to get attention, although there are those who do. But often, people don't use their coping skills effectively, and instead bring other people into their emotional state, to be cared for, or to feel less isolated, or sometimes, to thrive on that negative drama that they can't live without -- but whatever the reason, it's often because they don't realize that people will be there for them even if they're not having a crisis.

Misery loves company....
What I take it to mean is that humans are empathetic. When someone is miserable, they feel sorry for that person, usually, and become miserable because that person is miserable. The next person that newly miserable person meets becomes miserable, too, and so on and so forth. Very few people can shield themselves against this.
Another explanation is that miserable people like someone to be miserable with, to grieve with. Does that make sense?
Hope this helps you!

smile and the world smiles with U ,cry and you cry alone.while itz true that when its dark there are few to hold u r hand.but its general nature of people to share their sorrow with atleast one being.though it sounds terrible to wreck sum1's day, itz better to share ur misery with sum 1 than keeping it bottled up.also i feel look at the better side of u r misery ,understanding that each day is a new beginning and all That happens ,happens for the best.!!!!!! ALL THE BEST.

it makes the miserable person feel better to see other people miserable. if he sees everyone else happy, it just makes him feel more alone and more miserable.
plus it also means that whenever someone is around that person they become miserable because it is the essence of his being.
