I am taking Tri-Levlen birth control pills and my period is going to come at a very unwelcome time, would it be okay to skip the placebo pills, and start a new pack to skip my period?

PLEASE talk to your doctor or the pharmacist about this before doing so. They could tell you how to go about avoiding your period at that time.

Even if you skip the placebo pack you could STILL have your period. And it will take a while to get back on track again with your pills as you will mess your cycle up.

I did this once. Never again. Took me months to get regulated, I got my period on the active pills instead of the fourth week pills... never again.

Frankly I'd just take tampons and pamprin.

Yeah there's no problem with doing it. I do for 2 months with no placebo pills/period and then take the sugar pills for one period on the third month and start the cycle over again. It's good coz i only get my period one every 3 months and my doctor says it's fine and alot of people do it

It should be OK, however my doctor told me it would be better to take the placebo week early and then start a new pack - then there is less risk of break through bleeding.

you could not do it constantly (i think of you start to get step forward bleeding besides in case you pass 2 or 3 "classes") yet each each now and then this is super. i did not hear approximately taking the subsequent %. backwards, i theory you purely skipped the placebos and went as general. in case you pick to consistently try this you could pick to ask for a pill like Seasonale or Lybrel the place you have fewer classes.

It's okay to do that, but you are still going to get your period (or breakthrough bleeding at least... it might not be very heavy).
