my laptop was fine 30 minutes and now when i turned it on the laptops looks like when it did when i just bought it for some reason and all my files and pictures and music and my wallpaper to is gone? everytime i log in it says something about an error something like temporaily on. too i dont know how to get it back too normal like i had it before my laptop looks and acks weird now is there any way i can go back and change or something like the time or something like that.. It looks like your operating system has been messed up, probably by a virus. This is especially true if you were web browsing during your previous session prior to shutdown. If you have Win XP, try to repair it using this:

Once OK, immediately go to safe mode then scan for virus. Next time you surf the web, be sure to have a good anti-virus, anti-spyware and a registry guard like WinPatrol.

I think this means either
A. Virus
B. Total hdd failure
C. Ran restore disk
D. Crash caused data damage.
It would help if the errror was described with a bit more than "like temoporarily on"
but the last part makes it sound like you had a fatal virus wipe attack.
Changing the time wont do anything but remind you about your HotPockets.

try going to safe mode and run a disk check and an antivirus software
