I group of my friends and I are playing bingo like every other week now. We really enjoy it and have a great time. They always ask for or i.d. thinking we are not even 18 yet. My friends and I are around 25. They even get mad at us when we win! I am trying to figure out why they hate the fact that us "young people" there words are playing bingo?

I have visited a few Bingo Halls, and in my experience the groups of people that play there are like a small town....if you are a regular they accept you no matter what age you are. If you are new, and only intend this visit to be a casual one (never to be repeated), you only add to the competition, and they resent your being there....they don't mind losing to a member of their "usual" community, but they DON'T want to lose to a stranger.

And since by your own words, you and your friends have only been there a "few times" then you haven't had anywhere near the amount of visits necessary to be considered a "regular".

after retiring to a retirement community and starting to play bingo with older folks take it from me these older people
( especially the Ladies ) take winning at bingo very, very seriously. even if I win only once there are moans and groans. they all want to win and when one or more win more than one game just be prepared for some static. there is an old joke about how do you make an older Lady use improper language ?
yell " bingo " before She does.

I will reverse this question and you will have the answer...why is it that teenagers ...or so..seem so rude to the elderly when we hang around your places? All I seem to hear is nasty comments about the old geezer. Some have gone so far as to accuse me of being a letcher! All I like to do is watch young people have fun..it instills a sense of energy in me. Trust me, you can play bingo in my hall anytime you want...it matters not to me...but then again, I find bingo about the most boring thing anyone could possibly do, so you won't find me there.

Are you disrespectful to them or loud and boisterous around them or something? Where is the bingo game held---in a place where all ages congregate, or is it in a place just for the seniors? Young people have many options for fun, but with age comes disabilities and ailments which limit their opportunities. Maybe it's all they have left that they are able to do and feel you are competing for their only recreation. We'll all be there someday if we are lucky enough to live that long.

Maybe they just got to get use to you being there, I don't get it either. Are you talking during the game or doing anything that they might not like? Other than that I think they are just no use of having younger people there to play. I would think actually that they would like you being there.

Of course they hate when you win -- it means they lose. Maybe you're faster than they are, and they dislike that.

They only want to see people their own age at their facility.
