IRAQ-No weapons of mass destruction
IRAQ-Illegally invaded that country
Failure to catch Bin Laden

Forget Impeaching him. Just plan a party when he will be out of office and the Republicans will be out of the white house for at least the next 8 years. Impeach takes way too long.

The Republican agenda makes no sense anymore.

I am Not a liberal but the guy is a disaster as president

I just cannot understand how anyone can sit back and go yeah it has been 7 great years and wish I get 4 more of this?
What the hell?
You would not support Bush if you were impartial and looked at what a mess this guy has made. The impeaching will not help the people of Iraq, it will not solve our growing Inflation issues or bring back the 3,000 plus men and women that have died in Iraq for a hopeless cause. Yeah he is so wonderful. Can I get whatever you are smoking?

The sad thing is how many Bush Zombies live on yahoo answers hitting that bad answer button.

Say with me just like Bush does

"Weeeaapoons on Masss destructionnnnn"

"Bin Laden"
"Sadamm"
Those people" ummm ummmm mexicans"

Yeah, he is so gifted!

Sweetie take the blue pill and wake up! Neo wants you to disconnect from the machines before it is too late. lol!

Wait!

I understand your agenda

" We are the borg" resistance is futile"

We should just thank Bush for being so wonderful and throw a big parade for him. Gosh. I am getting all joked up inside. Strike up the band and here is to the red, white and blue.

Think for yourself and turn off Bill ( No Spin zone O brother Wiley)
You are probably one of those mindless zombies that call up drug addicted Rush Butterball with all of your dittos and I am a borg zombie crap.

No political party is perfect, but to ride the wave and blind yourself to reality is blind obedience. You might want to read the constitution and the it's true purpose. Absolute power without question was the reason we did not want to live under the king of England. So you like a president who just does not give a damm about his people and is committed to a agenda that has no clear plan?

We might not be able to impeach good old George W, but we sure in the hell cannot vote for another candidate who supports his agendas. Thank goodness it is not that far away. I guarantee you this. Next year you and all the ditto heads will be talking about in 4 years we are going to get it all back! Dream On!

The people of this country have had enough. My goodness you sound like you come out of the McCartney era. What’s next? Anyone who does agree with you will be a communist?

Keep puffing away. Must be some damm good grass you got

Your question does not ask for a reason for impeachment although at the end I will source a website that lists numerous illegal activities.

Your question is "...why is that?

The reason is this. There are no clear Constitutional standards as to what specifically constitutes an impeachable offense. Although it does state that for the executive branch, only those who have allegedly committed "treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors" may be impeached. Although treason and bribery are obvious, the Constitution is silent on what constitutes a "high crime or misdemeanor." Several commentators have suggested that Congress alone may decide for itself what constitutes an impeachable offense.

This leaves on the part of the general public only an ambiguous or theoretical idea of what offenses are impeachable. Also since, impeachment proceedings are so rare, we have little in the way of precedent to tell us. Clinton was impeached by the House on the grounds of Perjury and Obstruction of Justice, but was aquitted by the Senate. So we do know that those two offenses are impeachable. As to what else is impeachable would be a question for congress to decide. As promised below are a couple of websites that list many possibly impeachable offenses. You can make up your own mind.

seem at what have been the different considerable suggestions on the time, Gore and Kerry. regrettably Bush develop into the extra advantageous selection. He develop into actually a economic liberal nevertheless no longer a social liberal. regrettably the present political equipment precludes a considerable third celebration candidate from gaining any traction when you consider that they might basically take votes remote from the main significant political candidate it particularly is extra heavily aligned with their rules splitting the votes and "giving" the election to the different even much less perfect candidate. basically seem what occurred in ninety two, Perot garnered 20% of the vote giving the election to Clinton. ninety % of those that voted for him might have voted against Clinton had he no longer been interior the race.

As a legal process, impeachment in the United States is an expressed power of the legislature to indict an official.

The actual conviction on those charges (at the federal level) would only occur once the articles of impeachment were approved by the House of Representatives.

At this level, officials can be impeached for treason, bribery or other "high crimes and misdemeanors."

As to what constitutes a "real" reason, this would obviously be conduct judged as unbecoming for that of a publicly elected official - great enough to warrant immediate removal from office. The only "real" reason can be that which implies those crimes which are punishable by impeachment.

Generally speaking, justification for impeachment proceedings on President Bush is cited as conspiracy to exceed constitutional authority to wage war. The latter is based on circumstantial evidence that the President willingly ignored alternatives to invasion and misrepresented evidence used as justification for war.

The binding legality of these charges are obviously dependent on their approval by the House of Representatives.

However, one example of a draft article of impeachment justifies itself as follows:

Violation of Chapter 1, Article 2 of the United Nations Charter and a violation of Principal VI of the Nuremberg Charter.

According to Article VI of the United States Constitution "This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land;". George W. Bush has acted in violation of the supreme Law of the Land by the following acts:

1. Invading Iraq with United States military forces.
2. Sacrificing the lives of thousands of American troops.
3. Killing tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians and conscripts.
4. Rejecting possibilities for peaceful resolution of the conflict by rejecting acts of compliance by Saddam Hussein with the United Nations Resolutions, and ignoring the findings by Hans Blix that inspections were working to disarm Iraq.
5. Violating the Geneva Convention by abducting and transporting human beings to prisons in foreign countries where they can be tortured and subjected to inhumane treatment.

He has absolutely no respect for the Constitution. By his use of signing statements he done his best to circumvent the separation of powers. In 8 out of 19 cases studied executive branch agencies did not carry out the laws as passed by Congress and signed by the President. The President signed the laws and instructed agencies not to carry out all of it. That's not how it works in our system. The President doesn't get to pick and choose the laws he likes unless he breaks out the veto.

He also refuses to use established justice systems to deal with prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, and can not come up with a system that the Supreme Court (to which he has appointed two members, its not a liberal court) considers Constitutional.

That doesn't even begin to touch the basic human rights violations that go with indefinite detainment without trial at Guantanamo Bay. We've ignored the Hague Convention and almost all international standards of what is decent.

I think complete disregard of the Constitution is a sufficient basis for impeachment.

See the links below for support to my arguements.

The 'real' reason is because anyone that dumb and inarticulate should never have become president in the first place. But then again, people like to vote for people that remind them of themselves. Gosh, I don't know, maybe the fact that there are 3000 dead soldiers, the country is in chaos, and we had no reason to be there in the first place? Now North Korea & Iran are happily churning out warheads knowing full well that our pants are down around our ankles (militarily speaking). If that isn't a crime, shouldn't it be?

the congess gave him the authority to go to war because he lied to them using an NIE that the State Dept and CIA said was inaccurate. It's as if you gave me five dollars then said I stole your money. Certainly the Congress should've paid more attention and it isn't all Bush's fault, but he tried to trick Congress into voting for that bill.

Never should have elected him to begin with. What's the point of impeaching him now when there is absolutely nothing we can do about Iraq except being stuck there?

One good reason though to impeach him, or to put his top aids such as Dick Cheney in jail, is the outing of Valerie Plume the CIA operative. This is out right treason. I don't care what your personal politics are and where you stand on the Iraq war issue. The deliberate outing an agent who has committed her life to protecting the security of our country to get even with her husband, is abominable and malicious beyond repair. Bush and Cheney and Libby betrayed Valery Plume and betrayed the American people. Fire their stupid asses, now!

well... did you see what they were investigating Clinton for, for YEARS... and then they caught him in a lie about an affair that had nothing to do with what they were even investigating?

any of the reasons Reps had for the years of investigations are as good as the crazy stuff the dems are saying now...

it's all crazy partisanship... I'm just thankful the current congress is not as foolish as past ones...

incompetence isn't an impeachable offense... that's all I know he's guilty of...

EDIT: they are giving you a lot of reasons... "real" is a matter of opinion...

Chi Guy and Supertwin are right on target. You should be giving out reasons why you can't see what is right in front of you. What good is giving you the reasons if you're too blind to see the truth?
