I just got the ipod shuffle (small one) and I have no experience with any kind of mp3 player (I'm a cave woman). Can you put music like off of windows media player onto the ipod or does it just have to be off of itunes?
Also if you can explain how to, thanks!

Not directly. When you first install iTunes(you need this for your iPod), which you can download from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ or install with the CD that might have come with your ipod, you can have it check for songs already on your computer and put them in iTunes. You can also burn a song to a CD from Windows Media Player, and load it into iTunes. Once the songs are in iTunes, you can download them to your iPod with the included USB cable. If you don't know how to do this, read through the manual that came with the iPod, or go to http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/

You need to put all the songs you want on your iPod into the iTunes library and sync the iPod.

If you have any other questions about iTunes like how to take music off a Cd or something just e-mail me.

it needs itunes. you can download it off of a CD that should have come withyour ipod or you can download it online. you can then add songs from any CD's you own to itunes or buy music off of itunes. Once you have the music on itunes, connect your ipod with the cord that came with it to the flashdrive of the computer and it will add the music to your new mp3.

In itunes click on 'File" then "import Folder" or "File" etc
