If my son had been a girl, my ex-husband and I would have given her a particular name that has a special meaning to me. (I don't want your opinions on the name itself, so I'm not going to tell you what it is :))
I am pregnant again (not with my ex, obviously) and wondering if it would still be OK to use that name -- or would it be somehow wrong?

It's not wrong to use that name, because the person who you were going to give that name to hasn't been born yet.

First of all congrats!
If the father is not around i think you should go for what ever name you like and has meaning to you. If the father is still with you then I think that you just need to tell your new partner the names' history and also what it means to you. Then if you both like the names and meaning then go for it. Also If you still have connections with your ex. and don't want to upset anything there for your other childs sake and your own then you should inform him that you maybe using the name that had meaning for you both back then, if he is ok with it then go for it. If you, the father and your ex. are all fine with the situation then there's nothing wrong with it.
Good luck!

I don't think there would be anything wrong with that. If you like the name then go ahead and name your child whatever you want! As long as you know you don't have any attachments to that name because of your ex-husband..ya know? Because that would be wrong for your current partner...

I don't see that there is anything worng with that. After you said the name has special meaning for YOU not the ex so use the name. No one owns the rights to a name anyway.

I think if the name was something you picked out and it had special meaning to YOU it's not wrong. But if you and your ex picked it out together and it had special meaning to you both than it would be weird.

that name you picked, has SPECIAL MEANING TO YOU , you mentioned, so it seems like the ex, supported you on the name, but wasn't his idea for the name, so I say since the name meant and means so much to you for whatever reason. Its your choice and really has nothing to do with the ex, because YOU shared the name with ex if the gender was a female. so in all actuality.. the female name picked was done by you . and its your baby , so YES it would not offend hm, or shouldn't. its your momentum..........Use the name it belongs to your heart...........

I think it would be wrong to use that name b/c it was a name that was special between you and your ex...your ex would probably be hurt by it and your new b/f or husband probably wouldn't appreciate it either.

If had special meaning to u and u don't think it'll remind u of your ex every time u call out her name then I don't see a problem.

I dont think so. I mean that was a name you "would" have given if you two had a daughter, but you didn't. Now you are blessed w/ a baby girl and you've grown used to this name. You don't need his permission. He never owned the name.

It wouldn't really be wrong....but I personally would feel a little awkward about it, since it would have special meaning between you and someone else. It's kind of like a guy proposing to one woman. They break up and he gives the engagement ring to someone else.... I would find something else and create your own special moments with your new love.
