You know I have given this some thought over the past couple of days myself. 12 months ago I was in a relationship with a guy I thought I would marry. We had been together 5yrs. Turns out he was cheating with a girl he was working with. He left our relationship to be with her.
Even though I was the one that got cheated on and she has always made it pretty clear that she doesn't like me. To a point where earlier this week she said: " Face it, I won. I'm just better than you." So I am left to surmise that they see it as nothing more than a game. Their competitor being the woman who was there to begin with.
Having never cheated I'm afraid I cant give you an opinion from the other side of the fence.

Because they have absolutely no self respect. They care about no ones feelings but their own and don't care who they hurt to get what they want. If they had guilt or remorse they would stop the affair. I don't think they feel guilty at all. I agree with some of the other answers that say it is a game to them. They think they must be some kind of hot sh*t to get a guy to jeopordize his marriage and family. I'd say they are just sh*t in general.

I think half of it has to do with low self-esteem maybe. Nobody is seriously proud to be the other woman no matter what they say.Being the other woman you well always know that somebody is getting theirs before you get yours. Another reason is that they really like that person, so they take them as they are with the girlfriend and everything thing else. Other than that their is no real reason.

You know, that is a good question! Because if you are the "other woman" who is to say there is not another woman to that one.....and that is nothing to be proud of.

They just hide their insecurity,pretending being happy,while they are not.They have to pretend because they playing dirty game.Society always side a wife,so "other woman" just a home wrecker.No one respect this kind of woman,that's why they have to act proud.BTW...Nothing to be proud about.

Because they get there jollys off by stealing other girls men, and love to see the heart break of a broken up family and kids, they do not feel good about themselves to find there own guy. I call them soap opera girls and the same goes for the guys that do so.

They need to justify their actions other wise they would know what they have done was a low down dirty disgusting whorey thing .It was done to me and i did my best to make her life a living hell. She moved from her apartment i would like to think it was because of me.I would do it again but this time i would make sure i would hit her right in her fuc king face.This is to all you fuc king whores out there you better hope i 'm not the one you hurt because i will hurt you bad!!!

Maybe because they know they have tempted a man to mess around with outside his marriage, and think they must be better than his wife if they can do that. It usually backfires -most men return to their wives and leave them to pursue their tacky activities.

They feel that they are actually special, beautiful, fun enough to make a committed man actually consider someone else. It's a confidence booster and a challenge.
