which is better in terms of price/cost? is the cheaper gts worth it? or an extra 2-3 hundred for a gtx?

what? this is a custom build pc i built and i want a better card, i want to know it a gtx is worth the extra $$$

Depends on what version of the GTS. There is a 640ish MB GTS, and a 320ish MB GTS. As for the 640GTS and the GTX, it's about the same. You might be able to squeeze out some more FPS on a GTX but not much. It only has a bit more memory and a little bit higher clock speed. If you plan on going all out, though, just get an 8800ULTRA.

gts will do for now. if ur into the super frame rates crap, then get the gtx. both of the card will run direct x 10 games when they come out in six months or so.

HOLY S**T dude... just custom build ur pc... its MUCH cheaper and dont cost 3 grand... sheesh... i could probally build that from scratch and make it just as good or better for 1500 or less
