Is it like in Greek mythology the story about the "split-aparts"? Frankly I always thought that was just something Hallmark made up? Not that I'm not in to love, I love, love? I just wonder if people believe that "one" theory?

No I don't think there is just one, I mean if there is what if you never meet him? I have had enough good relationships to know that different people can be good for you in different ways and it's possible to love many people in one lifetime.

Well, I fell in love for the first time when I was 18. I loved that guy crazily, he was 6 years older than me. We actually worshipped each other. I used to love every thing about him, everything at his house, all his clothes, I even loved the laces on his shoes. That was a stormy love full of laughter, tears of both happiness and sadness, that was a love full of love. We were together for 1 year and then we mutually agreed to brake up! I thought there was no life after him. I cried him for months and hated anyone who would dare tell me that I was gonna find someone else one day. I thought people were ignorant and even felt pity for them coz they never knew the meaning of true love.
A year later I met a wonderful man who just charmed me. The moment I put my eyes on him I said to myself I am gonna marry this guy. We have been now together for 10 years, married for 5 of them and have a wonderful daughter who is the fruit of a true, calm mature love. I don;t have those fireworks explosions in my life anymore but I am so happy with this sure stable love.
When my husband hugs me, I feel as if we were two pieces of Lego that perfectly fit together, it feels as if our souls hug, too. So yes, I believe he is my second sweet half.

My husband and I have been together for 24 years. We have only had one minor quarrel in all that time. We still hold hands and kiss at red lights. We both married poorly the first time and wanted a soul mate the second time around. We have similar educations, both come from a family of 3 kids, both love science fiction books and art, and have very similar tastes. I thank God everyday for bringing us together.

If the "one" theory is true, then a lot of people in this world are incredibly unhappy. Think about all that breaking-offs, separations, divorces,...and without second chances?. Life would be a hell.

Well, looking at it logically there are 6.6 billion people. You might meet a couple thousand in your life (more, less? i am guessing there) so how likely is it that the one you marry/end up with is the one/only one for you? But if you believe in fate than you could believe that you are bound/meant to meet them. It is your call. I believe in love. I hope there is one for me.

I think there can be more than one true love. Some people are widowed and find another spouse who they love just as much.

Yeah, I believe it. But, on the flip side, look at how much true LUST there is out there to 'tide you over' until you find that one true Love!
Ha! ha! ha!
