Technically no, because the definition of sound is 'the sensation produced by stimulation of the organs of hearing by vibrations transmitted through the air or other medium.'. Noise is made by the impact, but since there are no ears to detect it, there is no sound.

This is whats wrong with humans. Just because we aren't there to witness it means that it doesn't exists? Sound waves are produced and it doesn't matter if they reach an ear or not. They are still passing through a medium and exist. Just because we aren't there doesn't mean it doesn't exists. Some parts of the jungle in Central America haven't ever been touched, or seen, or observed, or explored -- Does this mean they and all the organisms in it don't exist? OF COURSE THEY DO!!!
If you want to be particular, don't you think a bug, or bird, or squirell would have heard it thus causing it to exist. Something would have heard it.
OF COURSE IT MAKES A SOUND....this planet was created long before humans walked on it, and this planet will survive long after we are gone -- it doesn't revolve around us.
P.S.- so before humans were here there were no sounds? After we go there will be none? RIDICULOUS!!!!!

Yes, it still makes a sound since the sound is coming from the vibration of the tree and the earth on which it falls and the air surrounding it. The presence or absence of some one to hear doesn't affect the soumd.

Yes, if a tree falls and makes a sound while I am there it is logical to assume that the sound would still exist whether I was there to hear it or not.

By classical physics, yes. The tree makes sound waves, which is good enough.
By quantum mechanics, no. Things there are not real until the act of observation.

One time I wasn't in a forest where a tree didn't fall but I heard it anyway.

The other ansers seem to forget that animals also have sense organs called ears. Your question asks, "if no one is around" it doesn't mention "anything". Animals can hear, and they are pretty pissed when a tree falls.

do u think that trees make sound while falling to save themselves or to intimate orhers that they are falling .
its ok .what i think is that the sound is produced automatically when the tree is falling ,the soun is produced by the breakage of the stem or the wood .enjoy

Yes. Just because no one is there doesn't mean it doesn't make a sound, it just means no one is there to hear it.
