http://www.grants.gov is the US government website where you can search for applicable grants. However, you would first need to establish a nonprofit organization for the purpose you stated; most if not all grants are made avaialable only to nonprofit orgs.

There are a variety of grants available. You may very well be entitled to one under these circumstances. Under my profile debt there is a grants page with all the information and resources dealing with grants. Its free and nothing to buy and should help you.
