I want to, and i work sometimes, we do ok, but her daughter called her and cussed her out today, even called her a bad mother, because she wants money, should it be my wife's job to keep giving her money? or should she close the pursestrings? she's already given her over 4 grand this year, and she is about 20...

Depends...are you staying at home for a reason because you are caring for a child, or are ill? If not, I think it would be really hard for a Mom to say no to a daughter who is 20 and out there on her own, while saying yes to you at 31. The daughter may be feeling hurt emotionally because of that and is lashing out. This is wrong of her, but she is young.

I am not trying to be bold...just wondering what the circumstances are to get a better understanding of your question. Best wishes in whatever happens. Family is important. I would recommend keeping quiet and letting your wife make the decison on this one. It is her daughter.

Anyone that cusses out her mother, or is verbally abusive to her mother deserves nothing. That 20 year old is not ENTITLED to her mothers money. $4,000 this year already? That's a lot of money for an able bodied young woman to get from her mother. Sounds like Miss Twenty needs to get a job.

She's 18+, no longer Mommas responsibility. The more she gives, the more she'll want.
