In my case, my dad played a much bigger part than my mom, so it was unequal, but the other way around.

I'm so sorry to hear you don't have a relationship with your father. I dont either, well I seen him every probably ahh 6 months. But we talk on the phone every now and again about crap though - he's an alcoholic so no sense comes from him.
I really understand what you mean though. I got into a fight with my mother about something I had done (i'm 21 and my mum still has it over me and is pretty much the only person who can make me cry) BUT i broke down from a fight with her and thought - This is the time I need a dads cuddle and his support, curl up on his lap and cry. Dads are usually the ones that understand more (with daughters mainly) and will always tell you everything will be okay.
I agree with you. Both parents offer something different. If you are missing either one of those parents, then you are missing out on something.
I have a good relationship with my mum, but even we dont talk about really "girly" things. So, If I only had my father, it would probably be the same....I hope that made sense.

Yes I do........I have 3 kids and their Father and I are divorced he no longer plays a role in their lives. I now have to do both jobs and at times it is not easy! To have another around when you need some quiet time alone is so difficult...... So adjustments need to be make in order to have that time. Fathers should play more of a role then they do to both Daughters and Sons it looks bad when the Mother is not that interested in her kids The same rule should apply to Fathers as well.

I'm sorry that you don't have a relationship with your father I would have to say that my parents have played an equal role in my life but if I had to choose which one had more of a role then it would be my mother

close, but not quite. i think the father plays a slightly bigger role in a boy's life than a girls. just because there are the natural similarites that most kids, like boy to boy stuff. well, you probably know what i mean. like the more personal things, like a son can only really talk to his father about.

Father and Mother are both equally important! It's just that more Fathers are Deadbeats than Mothers!

Fathers are very important. I had a difficult relationship with my mother and was closer to my father which feels bad too. I'm sorry you are missing that with your father, I understand. Good luck to you.

I'm much closer with my father than my mother, they're still married, and my mom actually spent more time with me over all, but my dad and i just have a better relationship. Everyone tells me i act just like him :)

I dont have a relationship with my dad either and I hate to say it but I think the mother is the key player when it comes to the kids. There are so many dead beat dads out there.
