im an exotics vet technician.....rabbits love greens, thats what they eat in the wild....and that should be a good part of their diet, not pellets....lack of greens, and a rabbit soley on pellets (esp since it was weened from its mom) cos the rabbit to have mallocclusions (over bite of the jaw if u will), which cause points on the upper and lower molars, cos the molars dont line up properly and cannot grind fully to smooth out (for their teeth constantly grow), if this occurs, they will need teeth trims (for the back molars, many vets, who are uneducated about exotics, trim the incisors, this does nothing), if the rabbit has points, when it chews, the pointy molars rub up against the cheek and tongue, causing ulcers, which are painful, causing a rabbit to stop eating, which will cause loose stools, then GI stasis, then death. you should find an exotics vet and have checkups to see if there are points so this doesnt happen.....also.....be sure never to feed your bunny starchy foods like corn, or foods like yogurt drops (treats from pet stores), or any type of bread/cereal/grains....this also can cause loose stools....rabbits need a high fiber diet (leafy greens like collards, kale, rommaine, parsely, chickory, dandilions, and things like that), u can buy all that at your local grocery store, and your rabbit will thank u for it. goodluck.

No, not feeding a good quality hay like timothy hay can lead to impaction. Hay is their number one diet. They can have a little bit of pellets, about 1/4 cup per 5 lbs. of weight daily and that is all! No alfalfa hay for adult bunnies--too high in calcium.

why dont you feed it vegies?they dont even cost that much...i supply mine with unlimited hay and feed them pellets + vegies.they groom alot so hay + green vegies helps their digestive system , unlike cats rabbits cant vomit out their furballs.
