According to this story the Earth is repairing itself from global warming by icebergs breaking off anartica and pushing atmospheric carbon down to the deep oceans. I always was told by the "Global Warnist" that we as humans can destroy the Earth but this story shows how insignificant we really are.

Global warming / cooling is a natural part of the Earth's life cycle. It cant be stopped and is not caused by man, they weren't even here at the end of the last 6 ice ages.

The alarmists should be urging the World Governments to prepare for the consequences of global warming, not trying to fight the inevitable.

I don't see this story as proof we have nothing to worry about when it comes to global warning. Humans are dumping tons and tons of CO2 in the atmosphere. The story doesn't even imply what you think it says. The icebergs, if they do reduce the amount of C02, can't keep up with human emissions, or the levels of CO2 would have stayed constant over the last 150 yrs.

The truth is no one really knows for 100% sure what the deal is. We do know however that carbon dioxide in the atmosphere increases temperatures. and the temperature is going up at a rate unprecedented in human history. Now 2 + 2 doesn't always equal 4 but in this case we can't afford to be wrong if it does. If you want to see what too much CO2 does to a planet look at Venus.

No creature in the history of the world has had the power to affect the planet the way man does. The Earth may be able to recover from anything we do to it, but that doesn't mean it will be livable while the planet adjusts.

Man is a mind-boggling creature.

You have the extreme religious literalists, who believe that the world began a mere week before Man was created. These people believe the Earth is a mere 5,000 years old.

These people are mocked by people that believe fossil evidence which shows that the earth is millions of years old. To put that in perspective, they believe that if you compressed the age of the Earth into 24 hours, Man only arrived about thirty seconds ago.

Mere Logic would suggest that the first group would be the ones that believe that Man is capable of destroying the planet, as the latter should realize that the Earth did just fine before we got here, and will probably not notice when we are gone.

and yet... it isn't the Southern Baptists that want everyone to give up their SUV's.

Also the warming causes more weather action which in turn produces mor waves, which mix carbon dioxide into the water, which provides co2 for the plankton, which exhale oxygen and provide food for other ocean life, and so on. Do you really think we are the badest thing this planet's ever seen?

There was recently a story on Discovery Channel about Denali State park in Alaska. Wonder Lake was formed by a receding glazier some 14,000 years ago. the lake is 250 feet deep and about 2 miles long. I wonder how many planes, trains, cars or humans caused that?

So are you willing to buy my below sea level land on the Gulf of Mexico?. According to you it will not flood. Get a clue. When ice melts it turns to water, a one inch rise in the sea could cause flooding of low areas and cost land owners Trillions world wide.
