I guess the answer would be yes. but if you read all of this entry by Wikipedia, it's almost as if he didnt exist. ever. James did die but Carl just fades away.

"Old Schoolers"??!!!?? I'm offended. Just kidding.

Carl was supposedly sick and had to stay where ever it was they had originnaly moved to. Florida came back for Thelma's wedding and ended up staying because she felt her kids needed her help. Carl was never mentioned after that. Especially when Keith bought the new place and made sure there was room for Florida and then they found out that Walona would right next door. The show ended with them all preparing to move, Michael going to live in the dorms and Thelma announcing she was pregnant.

I guess I am an old schooler. I remember that show. I believe towards the end of the series his character had died. I believe Florida was a widow, not a divorcee. I'm not positive though. I remember Janet Jackson got her start on that show.

i thought he supposedly died on the show (in thruth he quit the show because it was retroing back to the days of steriotypes by having JJ be more "pimplike" etc.

You mean James? I don't really remember but I know he wasn't there. The character may have died.
