It took me yrs to learn how..anger is a reaction. So I choose not to allow someone the power over my emotions..to the point of anger. I choose to walk away..hang up..avoid a person who causes me to feel that anger. So I control it by controling myself. And no it is not always easy! Oh I could sceam sometimes!!!!!!
Ciao..I feel better..thanks!

It never used to come easily. I use a few tricks:

1) Always breathe slowly. Slow breathing calms the body. Breath from your diaphragm.

2) Before you act, consider whether reacting angrily is the best plan. Most often, getting angry exhausts me, so I'm not going to get angry unless there's a really important reason for me to. Learning to stop and evaluate takes time, but you get quicker at it as you go along: the first few times, you might only stop and evaluate after half an hour of being angry, but eventually you'll be in the habit of doing it before you get riled in the first place.

3) If you're stressed to start with, your temper will be shorter. So learn to manage stress, if you do then you'll find you won't have as much of a temper. That means not fretting over things that aren't important, and not fretting over things that are either: just deal with them as they come up, and your stress level will go down. This one's a long-term project, I'm still working on it myself.

Good luck!

I have a temper. I do not have any patience so my temper is real easy to come out, but I let out one good scream and then i am quiet. I get my thoughts together and then laugh at how stupid i was a little while ago and my temper tantrum is gone.

controlling my temper does not come easy for me I'd say I control by thinking positive and not letting anger get to me

This ultimately depends on how pissed off I am and where I am at. If I am mildly irritated, then yes, I can maintain my composure. But... if I am pissed off into a dimension that is beyond my control then sometimes I might let a few words fly here and there. But I rarely act a fool in public - I hate when people do that, even if they are mad.

Keep home problems at home. Cheers!

try thinking of positive things in situations and when someone says something rude or something you just prush it off. But you have to stand up for what you believe in tho like if you believe in saving wildlife dont just let people hit a bird or some other animal.

plus if a guys bothering you because i have hung out with guys my whole life i have learned that if you react they WILL do it again and again until they dont get a reaction from you!

and yes this does come easily for me because iam just a really happy person

Sometimes my temper can get way out of control.
But before that happens I just re-think about the whole situation. By then, I've calmed down.

It's very hard sometimes.

I just take deep breaths, remove myself from the situation and isolate myself from the problem until I can think clearly and then I confront the problem and person and come to a conclusion that often takes compromising and seeing the problem from all parties point of view.

Controlling it doesn't come easy at all, I usually call my ISP or cable company and take it out on them since I'm always having problems with them anyway.
