my daughter is 6 months and about 2 weeks old, she hates tummy time and shows no interest in crawling, she occasionally rolls over but is not that interested, she can sit on her own and can stand up if she is holding on to something. if she is on my lap she will pull herself up to a standing position and try to walk, does this do any damage to her legs at all?? and should i be worried?

I wouldn't be worried. Just don't push her into doing anything. I thought my daughter was kind of interesting when she started walking. Babies walk, fall down on their butts, stick their butts in the air, and get up that way. My daughter would sit in the middle of the floor, plant her feet under herself, and lift up. I don't even know many adults who can do that.

My friend's baby just went through that; wanting to walk and not crawl. He just turned 1 years old this week, and he was definitely more interested in walking first, but a couple of months ago he started to crawl (around 9 mos).

Crawling is important for coordination. Walking will not damage the legs. This is something that your doctor can clear right up for you.

Have patience, the next thing you know she will be heading off to college. =)

Does your daughter sleep on her back? Many kids that sleep on their back never crawl. Standing up and trying to walk is a normal thing for babies to do. She has enough strength in her legs to do that so she will. Do not worry many kids start walking as early as nine months. My firstborn was in shoes at nine months old.

she is fine, my son was the same way. eventually I just put him on his tummy and let him get mad, and sure enough he learned to crawl. He crawled at 7 months and walked less than 6 weeks later.

No don't be worried some babies skip crawling and go straight to walking. Just help your baby and encourage them to walk or do anything ex. crawl, roll,

She sounds fine. Some babies never crawl, they go right to walking. Stop worrying.

my nephew (sister's baby) went through that also. he almost totally skipped crawling and on to walking. when anyone would pull him uip to sit, he'd pull himself up to stand.

don't worry about it. wanting to stand or walk early won't do any damage at all to her legs. she's fine.

Not a problem at all. My son did exactly that - and he's just fine. Lots of babies do this, just make sure you catch her when she falls. :)
