actually i liked nick and phyllis together!!!!!!! but that was at first, now i think that after nick comes back, sharon and him are going to get back together and then (possibley?), summer is really going to be jack's baby and jack and phyllis are going to get back together, because you know the only person who saw the test results was nick!

I love Y&R always have. They are like a part of my family. (yeah I know, a sick sometimes dysfunctional family, but family none the less)
I will admit I hated that they killed off Cassie. The weeks and months after her death were torture. I mean the funeral the flash backs, OMFG!!! Some very realistic acting, it was hard to watch sometimes and yes I cried. (Silly I know.)
This may not be a popular opinion here but I love the Nick and Phylis story. I think they are great but then I hated Sharon. She was so self rightous and look at her now... Yikes!
Oh well, to answer your question, I have to say "No" I do not think the writing was affected after the death of William Bell quite the contrary. You don't win Daytime Emmy's for bad story writing.

I don't watch it everyday, but I know my mom does. She watches the channel that replays it in the evening. I have watched it for many many many years and what I have noticed is that the storylines have slowly been gearing towards younger crowds. When I watch it I'm like what shes with him and hes with her! They really need some new quality writers. Keep in mind I live in LA so I see these people often. Once I saw Sharon at a restaurant and I wanted to ask her what has happened with the show. But of course I'm sure she would probably look at me like I am a freak or something.

Every show has peaks and valleys. I like babies, weddings, and destine lovers finally getting together. Y & R has lost most of those things. Mac and Billy getting married (until we found out they we related), Sharon expecting another baby after Noah, Nicki and Victor getting remarried and moving back to the farm. Now the power couples are dull and old, there is nobody to cheer on to get together and all the old business of Jabot and Newman is really getting drowned out through all the politics. I only have watched occasionally and it seems that I don't miss much.

I think they had to kill Cassie, because she wanted out so that she could go to school and live a normal life. As far as Sharon, Phyllis, Jack and Nicholas, they are just getting started. Give it a chance, it'll get better soon...

The storylines are alot more unpredictable, which I like.
For awhile the Y&R was gettting quite boring, now I love to tune in everyday.
The only storyline I am disgusted with is the whole porn thing between Lily and Daniel.I wish Daniel would admit he has a problem with porn, and stop lying to Lily about everything.

Are you kidding? I can't wait each day for it to come on, I love Sharon and Phyllis together. However I don't care to much for Amber, they need to send her back where she came from. And when Victor comes home, Look out Brad.

I am tired of the campaign thing already. I also have gotten tired of Sharon's hair. I know it sounds dumb but she needs a new look. I want more Nick!!!

The only storyline I am tired of on Y&R is the stupid campaign between Jack & Nikki! I mean wrap it up already! I hate politics.
I do like the Amber, Daniel, Kevin, and dead garret story line.
