Theres a congressional picnic the other day on the white house lawn. It has a bbq theme. Kermit Ruffians and the BBQ Swingers (who happen to be African american) are there for musical entertainment. At the end Bush jokingly says to Kermit and the crowd "Proud you're here. Thanks for coming. You all enjoy yourself. Make sure you pick up all the trash after it's over."
Now liberals, their websites and their blogging buddies are all up in arms because thats somehow racist
I'm lost...only African americans are dirty and need to pick up trash so they dont make a mess of the white house lawn?

If he had wanted to be racist he could have always have said something like, "Now don't go spitting your watermelon seeds all over the lawn". Which he didn't. He simply was asking them to be environmentally friendly and tidy after enjoying the festivities. That they happened to be people of colour shouldn't matter. And Kermit is green, not black. and a frog at that. So how is saying anything that includes him going to be racist?

It was his drunken attempt at lame humor in refering to those good ole black folk for singin for us and make sure you do not forget your place on the plantation and forget to clean up when we's done with our picnic...ya'all aint house broke just yet now Ya hear!! very lame I tell people I am dutch now a days.

He was telling a talented (Im assuming, having never heard them, but also assuming no one would hire a crummy band to play the White House) band, there to provide entertainment, that their TRUE value to him are as garbage collectors?
That's no joke, that's just more ignorant hate, designed to make the band members feel as though they aren't worthy to be there just because of their skin color.

I missed this one , thank god. Everyone knows Kermie has been ' green' forever.
