Why on earth are you pumping if you AREN'T even going to breatsfeed? Your question doesn't even make sense. If the baby isn't going to stay with you, SUPPRESS your milk supply. Get over trying to lose a little baby fat and concentrate on NOT getting pregnant again.

Your awesome. You did a wonderful and brave thing by doing what you thought was best for your baby.
Don't pump it will just make your body make more milk.
It should stop on its own after a few weeks. There is a pill that you can take that will make your milk dry up but it does have some negative side effects. Ask you doctor if it would be a good choice for you.

If I understand correctly, you are trying to get your milk to dry up because you gave your baby up for adoption. Pumping will only signal your body to produce more milk, and make the situation worse. The only thing to do is avoid any kind of nipple stimulation, and not pump or express milk. Your breasts will stop producing milk and the engorgement will subside. You can put ice on them for the pain (heat will only cause you to produce more milk). You don't need to get the milk out - your body will absorb it when it realizes it doesn't need to produce milk anymore.
Good luck with the baby weight - just wait until your doctor clears you at your 6 wk appointment and start working out. Good old fashioned exercise and diet are probably the only thing that is going to work there!

Breastfeeding works on supply and demand. If you pump your body thinks the baby is demanding it, and will produce more. Don't pump, only squeeze out a little by hand if you're really full and in pain (in a warm shower works well). Best thing to do is wait it out.
from La Leche League:
"Ice packs, bags of frozen vegetables, and chilled or room temperature green cabbage leaves are helpful for reducing engorgement. Cabbage leaves are often the most comfortable and effective treatment. It has been reported that cabbage inhibits milk production as well as relieves engorgement." - just put a leaf or two on your breasts, like inside your bra cups.

If you're trying to dry up your breast milk don't pump. That will just stimulate your breasts to produce more. You'll just need to stop stimulating the milk production and they'll dry up on their own in about a week or so. If you're in a lot of pain from engorgement you can let off a little of the milk, but try to to empty your breasts. A snug bra can help.
Baby fat: 9 months up, 9 months down. Exercise, eat healthy and you'll get back in shape.

If you want the milk to really go away then you need to leave it alone. If you pump, your body is only going to think that it needs to produce more milk. Just try to leave it be until it dries up. To soothe it try putting some cabbage leaves on your breasts or take a nice hot shower. And good for you for not just helping another family but helping your baby too.

Do not take a hot shower where the water is hitting your breasts, it will stimulate them more. Buy a cabbage and put several of the leaves in the freezer. Put one frozen leaf on each breast in your bra. I know it sounds ridiculous and I don't know what makes it work but I have friends who swear by it. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a way to get rid of the baby fat any quicker than doing the usual exercise/diet routine. Don't sweat it too much, give your body a chance to recover.

Are you trying to dry up? You sound worried about your body. Don't breastfeed and the milk will dry up. But then again, my son is 9 months old and stopped bfeeding @ 3 1/2 months and I still produce milk. Sorry about your feelings about your body. That just comes with being pregnant.

first of all, I am proud of you for making the right choice for your baby!!! You have blessed yourself, your child and the family who recieved the baby!
Don't pump your milk, that will only encourage more to come it. Wrap your breasts with an ace bandage, and call your dr, you can get pills to help dry up the milk.

Buy a bottle warmer. I bought one for the same reason b/c I hated having to run my breast milk under hot water or sit it in a cup of water b/c when she was hungry..well she wanted it right then and there. It takes about 30 secs or so to warm up the bottle and it is small so it doesn't take up much room on the countertop,. They aren't that expensive and they are totally worth every penny
