It could be as simple as pressure on one of the many nerves in your pelvic floor. When pressure is applied to certain nerves in the pelvic floor you can get those shooting pains down your leg. But there's no advice better then a doctors. So go ahead and call your doctor. It's better to be safe then sorry.

RE:
35 weeks and experiencing left pelvic/leg (nerve?) discomfort! Do you think it's just part of ligiment pain?
I am nearly 36 weeks pregnant and today I have been having more lower abdominal pressure but seems as though when I have a, what I call braxton hicks, I get a sharp shooting pain in my left groin and what feels like a nerve pain that shoots down just my left leg? It happens when I feel the tummy...

the leg pain sounds like sciatic nerve pain, very common in late pregnancy, unfortunatly. the baby is putting pressure on the sciatic nerve (its in the back and goes down into the leg, and the contractions are causing the baby to press against the nerve, which shoots pain down the leg.
the groin pain, well, thats round ligaments. You only have a few more weeks until you get your reward for all this pain and hard work!! Good luck!

The kind of pain you should be feeling is the pain coming from the back and around to your stomach. Going down your left side is something different. It could be some kind of cramp, it could be that your bladder is full or your laying on one side too long. I know when I lay on one sid too long I get this pain and then I turn and try to work it out. But before you go into labor you should be feeling low back pain that comes all the way around to your stomach. This should be a consistant pain or discomfort. I am 37 weeks this is my 4th.

Pain on the left side and the left leg is from pressure on the sciatic nerve due to the weight of the baby. To help ease the pain, sleep on your right side with pillows for support.

By 7-8 months of pregnancy, everything hurt on me. You're carrying extra weight, and you can pull muscles that you didn't even know you had. Doctors are used to hearing rediculous questions from mommys-to-be, so if you're concerned, you're doctor should understand.
