history is the collection of all the written and saved events which have happened during the centuries of human existance, it never repeats, but we can get experiences from past to manage our future. histroy is the treasure of the humanbeing's childhood, younghood and matureness not every single individual... but the humanbeing as a united body. whatever has happened hundreds of years ago never happen gain, the time has changed, no jesus, no aristotle, no napoleon bonaparte, no hitler, will come again. all we have to do is to learn from the experiences of those who lived before us to make a better future.

Although your question is somewhat vague, many people think History is any event, such as the renaming of Iwo To in Japan, which has just occurred. Yes, History does repeat itself, and when it does it is often human error that is at fault. If one party has failed to learn the lessons from History, the other party will quickly condemn that party for repeating its mistakes.
The more you read the questions and answers here on YA, the more you will find that many people think in repeated historical examples, i.e. - Pearl Harbor:911 or Vietnam:Iraq. You will also find how fast History is turned into myth, i.e. - The Americans single-handedly won the Second World War.
Even though the idea that the Americans won WWII by themselves is a fallacy, it is often how many Americans interpret the event. Often much less time and attention is spent on learning how the others (the Australians, the British, the Canadians, the Chinese, the French, the Indians, the Russians etc.) contributed to the same victory, working together for a common goal.
Its ironic that those who condemn others for not learning their History only see their own as having the most importance.

History are the stories we tell ourselves about events that happened in the past. It is a subjective, not an objective science. Each 'Historian' has his/her own bias about information. The only caveat to this is that a some facts are more stable than others.
For instance, we can consider it "stable and accurate" to say that John Wilkes Booth killed Abraham Lincoln. However, it becomes speculation when historians attempt to tie Booth's motives to the historical act.
Or, we can speculate that Caesar was an epileptic based upon accounts of some "fits" or strange behavior, but without his body -which was cremated- it remains conjecture, not "fact".
History, as with archeology, are stories which fit the data the best, not the iron-clad and immutable facts we assume then to be.

History is the things that happened in the past that were witnessed or recorded. It is only time passing by, really. We study these events in retrospective, and that plays a huge role in determining how the world operates today. Ancient history, B.C. - A.D, modern times, and even 5 minutes ago. Most of our answers to questions in the future can be revealed by looking at the past.

History is the systematic narrative and research of past events as relating to the human race as well as the study of all events in time, in relation to humanity.
Does history repeat itself? In a sense, it does as in similar circumstances people (nations, leaders) may repeat themselves to a certain extent. Examples? More empires when they see that they have reached their limits (military, cultural, political, etc...) tend to build walls at these limits to keep out invaders like the Great Wall of China (to keep the Mongols out), the Roman lines (Hadrian's wall & the Danube-Rhine lines to keep out Picts and Germans) and (perhaps farseeing but...) the wall along the US-Mexico border.

History is the past, present, and future. It is His story being told. Not what someones point of view documinted of events based on how they precieved them. Oh and His meaning Gods story not mans story.. which unfortunately is what we get.......His story continues until He ends it ...

History is the story of the past written by the victors. It tends to be sort of one-sided.
