message for Watchman:

The "celebration" of the summer solstice is a celebration of the arrival of summer!
It is an acknowledgement of the creator and celebration of the creator of it.

"This is the day (June 21) that the LORD has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it! "

Your answer does not make sense,it contradicts itself

I don't personally, but I know a lot of people that go off to Stonehenge, or other ancient stone circles to celebrate the solstice. At Stonehenge, for example, the sun at sunrise on the summer solstice throws a ray of light for a few minutes between two of the stones, illuminating the centre stone. It was built in about 4000BCE and is a sort of ancient solar calendar that our ancestors built from stones quarried in Wales and then transplanted to Wiltshire. Our Celtic ancestors (especially if you're Irish, Welsh, Scottish, Breton, etc. by descent) celebrated the arrival of the seasons. Around the spring equinox, on May Day, to be exact, by the way, there are many people that celebrate the ancient Celtic spring festival, i.e., Morris (from Moorish) Dancers go up to the highest local hill at Sunrise and worship the awakening of the earth in the person of the "Green Man". Although it is almost always simply for tradition's sake these days, there will be Celtic High Priests amongst those that will have been at Stonehenge on daybreak yesterday (I'm in England), and they will perform the sacred Pagan rites to ensure the seasons arrive on time and so that noone will starve, etc.

Aye, I went out into the big field by my house and grounded/centered. Just let myself sit there and appreciate everything the Goddess has given me. It was an absolutely beautiful day, the birds were singing.. just perfect.
