Its because they really don't understand what most Americans want. Americans where mad at the Republican congress because of runaway spending and the poor planning for reconstruction/stability after the fall of the Saddam regime in Iraq. Most Americans also want improved border enforcement so that the illegal immigrant problem doesn't get worse. Instead the they have increased earmark spending, including trying to put it on Iraq spending bills. Instead of trying to move forward they continually bring up more nitpicking of the president. (Yes, I think he is bad) but, that is not the way to get things done.

Nancy Pelosi also overstepped her bounds by going overseas and doing foreign policy. That's not the job of the Speaker of the House. The executive branch whether you like them or not is the only branch authorized to do that. Then you have The Senate majority leader Harry Reid, making crazy statement like "The war is lost" when we still have soldiers fighting.

They blew their chance to show they where different, now 2008 will be a toss up.

Well, I think....
Probably All the Republicans who stay home and answer polls vote against today's congress,
then the Democrats who voted for change are getting/have gotten impatient and want to see things go faster, so they give them low marks, too.
So, busy people usually don't answer many polls and angry people have to place blame somewhere.
We all need to tell our reps. to get moving in a balanced way, and keep the pressure on. This is supposed to be a participatory democracy, not just send someone up to DC to do all the work. What did you expect, a coup d'etat?
Don't give up hope, just realize it might take a while, and if we still had the one-party govt. we had 2000-2006 there'd be no sense of hope.

The People sense that neither party is above board- and they're right.

Both are bought and paid for by the New World Order- Illuminati. neither is loyal to the country or the People .
