First of all with prepaid phones you have the luxury of canceling their service if you are not satisfied and not locked into a contract like with the regular cell phone plans. However with prepaid plans you have to be careful because some companies will charge you a daily rate 99 cents whether you use your phone or not and each minute can cost you up to 25 cents a minute for outgoing and incoming calls depending on the cell phone carrier. I suggest you read about the different types of prepaid plans Cingular Go Plan, Verizon Prepaid Plans, T-Mobile, Boost Mobile, and Ampd Mobile.

Ampd Mobile recently filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy due to low numbers in subscribers. They have recently closed several call centers and stores in certain states. I suggest you think about this before signing up with them.
