Not too many tabs as in a bunch of stuff at once, but opening one then closing it and opening another in sequence.

Half freezing as in the sudden inability to open any more tabs/windows/applications.

I'm using IE7, by the way. Is this just a bug?

it just builds up in the memory. try to re-use the tabs that you open. if it gets slow on you then exit IE and re-open it again.

another thing though, IE is notorious for the gaping security holes it has had. i dont know about the newer version, but i would recommend mozilla firefox anyways. it had tabs long before IE did, plus it patches the security holes up well. i havent had any trouble with it and its interface is basically the same as IE. oh yeah...ITS FREE! i would advise switching over to firefox

No, the fact that your opening so many windows is using up to much of your PCs ram. Only windows Vista can handle a bunch of windows open at the same time. XP can handle it but not well.
