Taco Bell Shift Manager

Be reliable, not only showing up on time and for all your shifts, but being available whenever they need other shifts covered.

Volunteer to do the jobs most people wouldn't want to do. Don't be afraid to get dirty or break a sweat. Never act like you're too good to do something. Go out of your way to help others (while still complying with labor laws).

Show initiative.

Practice common sense and use good judgement. Always put the customer first, while still keeping in mind corporate's expectations and policies.

Demonstrate enthusiasm for the company and encourage a fun yet productive and responsible workplace. Motivate others. Always be willing to train others (without judgement or inferring superiority). Think "team."

Getting a degree is a good idea since after a certain point, not having one will be your only limitation. Big companies like Taco Bell usually offer tuition reimbursement or other financial assistance as long as the courses you take are directly related to the field.

My favorite from Taco Bell is the plain soft taco ... I used to walk in and order 50-100 of those (I had a HUGE family and friends to feed) and they were always 'you could call ahead and they'll be ready when you come in' but they'd get them out in less than 15 minutes AND get everyone else served quickly, too. They always threw in the cinnamon and sugar fried tortilla thingys for dessert (ten of them) FREE ... but I don't eat 'fast food' any more, so if you want, you can have a 'soft taco' but you'll have to eat it for me ... and yes, I'll give you a star, too, just because you asked with a please, which is very polite of you, and because this is NOT a 'Christmas question' or a religious attack question.

This is true. So please do not say I racist. A friend of mine worked for Taco Bell. He was the head manager for many years. He started out as a cook/cashier. He was told by the his boss that they way to get promoted was that once you become a shift manager. You have to hire illegal mexicans and have fake documentation on them. He did this and he climbed the coperate ladder. Then he needed a changed and switched jobs.

this question might be in the wrong section of yahoo answers... wanna know the key??? stick around. do whatever you have to do to keep your job. look around and make sure everything is in place, be the one who gets it done and is always reliable. how long have you been there yourself? have you noticed how quickly people come and go in a place like that? stick around long enough and you'll be there the longest. others in front of you will screw up and you can be there to step in. do what you gotta do. you make it to management, you are a lot more marketable for your next job.
