Now why would you ask such a question...we all talk to ourselves weither you admit it or not...but if they are actually born with a disability and they talk to themselves they may or may not need help so you cant go locking people up for talking to themselves or everyone would be locked up......

Among educators, it is generally know that second graders will talk to themselves and it increases their learning rate. You did not specify age. I think my concern would be if a person talks to himself that he pay attention to what he is saying so he will learn something. If the things being said are incoherent or foolish on a regular basis you might want to run that person under the nose of a competent family doctor.

No, I would have to lock myself up if that were the case. It is actually healthy for you in small doses - it's when you start answering yourself back that you should worry.

Depends if it's problem solving or something like that and they're just recanting a question - that's alright.
But if it's someone talking to themselves about "the voices" - yeah sure why not.

No Id be a hypcrite if I did. Unless they were actually carrying out a conversation with voices, then Id have to take them to the doc to be referred.

I would lock them up if they started answering their own questions, or argued with themselves.

It would be easier to lock up people who don't talk to themselves.

No, If they talk regularily to themselves it's competely normal, and recomended, but if they do that alot, you'd have to talk to a psychologist.
