We live in Wi. and my family and I are going to take a road trip out to california. What are some interesting things to see and do on the way down and when we get there? I know for sure we are going to see the redwood trees. Any ideas on what else to do and where to stay???

Try the web site below for ideas. I like the ocean, Chinatown, theaters and museums downtown LA, restaurants, the mountains, the Huntington Gardens in Pasadena to start.

There are many hotels of every price range, but I put guests in the best ones I can find on Priceline. We didn't have time to stop anywhere when moving from Austin.

Have fun!

Make sure you go to San Francisco, an amazing city. It's possible to walk across the Golden Gate bridge; did it once and quite an experience. Chinatown there is good to walk thru; ride the cable cars; visit stores on Union Square; visit Golden Gate Park.

Ideas for LA listed by another writer were all very good. Walk the boardwalk in Venice Beach for amazing people watching...but be prepared to stress out to find a parking place.

There are just too many good options!
