Sure why not? After 3K miles the engine is broken in and the oil will reduce wear.. good luck

While nowhere in the owner's manual does it say synthetic is required, I would SUGGEST using a FULLY Synthetic motor oil from a reputable manufacturer (ie. Mobil, Amsoil, Castrol, etc). The tip about waiting til 7500 isn't bad, but many techs will go back and forth as to whether or not you really need to wait. Some people wait til 10K, others go right at 3500. Just make sure to stick with the weight and oil specification that is specified in the manual.

Wait until you know the rings are seated. Get the first oil changed at 1,000 miles and use Subaru oil filters. If your WRX has plastic motor mount brackets get the motor mounts replaced too. Look at the dip stick at least 500 miles to be sure you are not using oil. And broken in not using at the third oil change switch to the good stuff. Castrol Synthetic, Mobil one or Pennzoil with the star molecule all good stuff. Royal Purple AMS OIL all very good. I stick to one brand Mobil one came factory filled in the LS-2 400 Hp V-8 Pontiac GTO. Buy in advance at discount department stores but get the exact viscosity your car takes Mine is 5wt/30 wt but the chart in the owners manual for higher than -30 degrees up to 100 degrees I use 10 wt/40wt

I don't think it will be a problem, it should be broken in by now. Cars are broken in at the factory these days, but you can wait until 5000 miles to be on the safe side. If I bought a new sports car I would change the oil at 1000 miles with conventional and at 4-5k miles with synthetic.

Follow your owners manual. Subaru Turbos call for synthetic oil.

Your first oil change should be at 1000 miles, and keep it below 4000 rpms until then - your engine will be happier for it. Then use synthetic, it is simply better in all aspects.

I would suggest always using synthetic oil, especially in turbocharged cars. the extra cost of mobile one/royal purple/etc is worth it in the long run.
