He could not do 185 once, meaning he might not be able to do 160 or even 140. In college a 7 4 wingspan will seperate you from everyone else game in and game out, but in the pros every center is just as big and every guard is twice as quick. durent tested with a lower verticle than oden, slower 3 quarter court sprint and slower agility test. so what do you do with durant? you ethier have the slowest guard in league, or the weakest big man, depending on where u play him. Just to put his bench press in perspective, earl boykins is 5 5 and 126 pounds and can bench 300 pounds. all i can say is durant is gonna get man handled in the paint and get his ankles broken outside the paint.

i read that steve nash can bench over 250 by the way. i think people dont relize how little not being about to bench 185 is. steve nash is a pure point guard who is thought to be weak and can get up 250. look at price, he will never be a star because he is one dimensional. durant is supose to be able to score inside and get rebounds, prince doesnt do either. every nba player is extremely strong and i garentee it will hurt him like it hurt shawn bradly (who dominated in college, but was pushed away and never saw the hoop in the pros). the nba doesnt call fouls like they do in college and its so much more physical, u guys will see.

by the way, he did terrible in the agility and speed drills, way worse than oden. so he doesnt have mobility pluses against other 6 10 guys, hes actually less quick and fast. and byyy far weaker

i am 21, 6'5'' & 195 lbs. My max bench is about 300 lbs. I played ball in high school but play it only once in a while now. The only reason i think this is a problem for Seattle, being so skinny Durant will spend a lot of time on the injured list. I don't think he is a freak of nature like Iverson and won't be able to get up after say Dwight Howard or Shaq takes a hard foul on him.

Yes, its a little frightening to see a player of such skills with such a lack of strength. But it's a lot easier to take a player with talent and make him stronger than to take a strong player and try to develop talent...

Just think, if Durant was putting up 25+ a game in the Big 12, what's he going to do once the Sonics put him on a NBA training program?!! He's going to be a big wing in the NBA, so his size is an advantage against the smaller guys and his mobility is an advantage against the bigger guys - just like at Texas.

But, lets be realistic here, after the draft camp anyone who wants Durant over Oden should be committed....

Any basketball player can get strong...even Kevin Durant...under consistent direction from the coaches and trainers. There are strong guys in the NBA that will never be half the player Durant is already.

it was explained in an article that was written about that. i think it was on espn.com. one thing, kevin durant didn't prepare himself for the testings. most of the participants were working out and getting stronger and faster, but durant spent time visiting different cities.

also, look at his arm lengths. it's harder for guys with longer arms to do bench press because they have further to push the weight.

by the time the season starts he'll be stronger and faster.

don't let some test results fool you on how good he is going to be. he proved in college he could play. he'll prove it again in the nba

It doesn't really matter....i mean look at steve nash he can't bench 150 but is a 2 time MVP. Earl Boykins is 5'5 and benches 300 how many MVPs does he have? its not all about the size.

i don't think its any big deal at all...look at Tashaun prince..do you think Prince can lift a five gallon water bottle over his head before he even got drafted? lol....anyone can put on muscle weight later on, and the point is everyone knows Durant can play out in the court, not emphasizing on the weight room. so no, I don't think alarming at all.

Great. The man hasn't even been drafted yet and he's already getting slammed on here.
