Infiniti qx56- how do I turn the airbag icon off myself without going to dealer- I have been told their is a way- but do you know how? It is like opening the door and hitting the light so many times etc... do you know the answer...?

You were told wrong. The airbag light means that there is a malfunction in the airbag system. It will go out when the problem is repaired.

The light may on to indicate a problem with the airbag system. This usually indicates that the system has turned itself off. I would suggest getting it fixed for your safety.
If no other way, then you can gain access to underneath the dash and remove the lamp. I don't advise this, but if for some reason you really need the light out. good luck

If you've fixed the problem, then disconnecting the battery will usually reset the computer.
If the light came on and you just want to get rid of it, I advise not to just ignore it. The SRS light is made to indicate a problem, even minor in your safety system. If a sensor is malfunctioning (in this case it could be) then the airbags might not deploy in the case of an accident. Please get it looked at if it has not been already done.

You have to have a guage. Preferably a 12 gauge. That'll do it.

u can shut it off but without fixing it it will come back on.
