You need to deal with facts. Democrats tried to set a date to end the occupation of Iraq, Bush and Republicans blocked that effort. The only course of action for Democrats now is the Impeachment of both Bush and Cheney. That starts in the House and ends in the Senate. The list of crimes in office is very long and investigations should start about Sept. or Oct. of 2008. Just before elections..

Democrats are 100% useless. Reason why is because no matter what they propose, Bush will Veto it. And if they want to over turn the Veto they need a 2/3rds majority. And they're NOT going to get that with a 51/49 House and Senate! So no offense, but those of you who voted for democrats to go into the Senate and the House to make these huge sweeping changes? You wasted your time! Your only chance now is to elect a democrat into the White House in 2008. The only problem is that by that time, America will be so angry with democrats for not being able to get anything done that they'll probably vote for a republican! And things will remain as they are until 2010 when republicans are voted back IN to the House and Senate!

The democrats have failed us as much as the republicans. They talked a big game during midterm elections but I haven't seen any action. I'm getting sick of both parties. Congress just talks and does nothing. We need to make this country an empire with a good dictator....I'll volunteer.

Oh Lordy Yes! Just look at the mess they have created in Washington over the last 6 years. That Demo president in the Whitehouse is dumber than a dirt clod; he has vetoed us into the Dark Ages…
Oh! Wait a minute I guess it’s the Republicans who have been destroying our military and the country overe the last 6 years after all… I don't think them Demos wuz in charge after all. Never mind!

They sent a bill to Bush who vetoed the bill. There are too many Republicans in Congress to override a veto. The Democrats new this but they had to try. They also said the troops would be funded and they were. If anyone is at fault it is Bush. Let us see what happens in September. The generals are supposed to report then and see if Republicans in Congress still support Bush and his little war.

So you say "that makes them no worse than the Republicans"? I might add that it certainly makes them no BETTER! YES, the Democrats AND the Republicans have failed not only Americans, but the world!

Without a 2/3 majority, there's not much they can do, but I agree they could be making ALOT more noise and stop backing down from the Republicans, especially Bush.

Can you explain to me how a member of Congress is supposed to "end the war"?
Do you mean to tell me you voted for a Democrat because YOU believed he or she would "end the war"? That would be as foolish a thing as Dick Cheney deciding to repeal the Patriot Act...he has no authority to do that.
So good try, but our system of government doesnt work that way. And it's very petty, very REPUBLICAN of you to try to convince people otherwise.
