Just call your airline and they can tell you what you can do and how much it will cost. Almost every airline will let you make any change outside of a name, you just have to pay fees and any increase in ticket price. It can be very expensive to do what you wish.

That being said, you really should rethink your plans. Jamaica is just entering hurricane season, it's not the safest place anymore, and the Caribbean is grossly overrated. However Hawaii is great this time of year and it won't cost you an extra money like Jamaica.

There is a reason Hawaii is called Paradise.

One thing the above poster said is correct, the rest I actually I have to disagree with. It does depend on the type of ticket on what you can and can't do. There are some tickets that will allow a name change, but most airlines won't allow this.

You can change the destination, but you will be paying an exchange fee plus any possible fare increase. If you purchased a ticket that is more expensive than a ticket to Jamaica, many airlines will not refund you the remainder. Some will allow you to use that extra money towards the exchange fee as where others won't allow it.

The rules of when this exchange needs to be done by depends on the airline. There are so many variables to the different tickets out there. A good reason to go with a travel professional. They can explain all this at time of purchase so there are no surprise fees. Some you have 1 year from the ticketing date, some you have 1 year from first missed outbound, etc.

You will need to contact where you booked it through in order to make this exchange.

Best of Luck.

It depends on the type of ticket that you bought. Most tickets allow you to change passenger name (if you pay the associated fee) and dates traveling but not the destination.

Why don't you want to come to Hawaii? It's beautiful here right now and you don't have to worry about ciguatera fish poisoning here like you do in the Carribean!
