You are obviously not from America. Many, and I mean many people do not do that. Some people are old themselves and can not manage to take care of a loved one on their own, There for may have them moved to a nursing home. Let me tell you, I volunteer at a nursing home and they are happy people. I have heard many of their stories for why they are there. Some told me they have nobody to take care of them so they will have themselves put in a nursing home just to be taken care of.Xx

If that is what you think is going on you are sadly mistaken. When my mother was dying she was placed in a nursing facility because she ASKED to be there because they could take proper care of her. I'm not young looking and I'm not in a nursing home and not all of America does this.

I know some old people that are my grandparents and we live in America and I don't hate them at all!!! I absolutely love them! And they don't live in a nursing home, they are in their eighties and live in their own house. But even if they were sick or something and had to live in a nursing home, I would still go and see them and love them. Do you even live in America? If not, then please don't assume anything.

Sorry to say, but i think it has to do with the majority of people wanting everything instantly and conveniently. Why go to the library when you can get all your info on-line? Why make coffee when you can pick some up at Starbucks..hhhmm i think many people find old people inconvenient. How Sad.

Don't generalize! I'm 21, and I have more friends over 50 then I do my own age.
