do you guys think that i will get into UC Davis or UC Irvine with a 1670 SAT score (i know that this is a horrible score) but with a 4.0+ gpa and good extracurriculars?

p.s. i am planning to do the ACT as well; i think that will be easier than SAT for me

I think 1670 will be okay for you to get into those two colleges as long as your GPA is excellent and there is a display of leadership on behalf of extracurriculars. But you might want to consider retaking the SAT again after submitting your application because if you get a better score, some colleges will supplant the old score will the higher new score. And if you do bad, who cares, your application is already in.

Well, I got rejected from UC Davis with a 1990 SAT score (1470 combined on two SAT IIs), but I had a lower GPA than you and virtually no extracurricular. I did, however, get into Irvine (which is where I am going this fall).

Yes, you should take the ACT, it is easier than the SAT for some.

Just because you have a 4.0 doesnt mean you should be getting a high SAT score. You could have been taking classes like shop or Art. The scores dont depend just on how inteligent you are. I think you have a chance at getting into a good univeristy or college. Your score is actually a good one, its not bad, if you want it to be better you could take it again. But its not bad.

And average ACT composite = 26

For UC Irvine...
The average high school GPA = 3.89
Average SAT Reading = 602

And average ACT composite = 26

I hope this information helps you!

They must have changed the max score since I took it. My best friend scored 1300 and that was concidered extraordinarily high (99th percentile). My score of 1080 was good enough to get me into practically any school I wanted. So this out of date person thinks the score is really good but doesn't really know.

4.0+ GPA shouldn;t be getting a 1670. Just retest, and pay attention this time.

The test isn't hard, you just gotta think, and use this so-called "common" sense.

Davis, Irvine shouldn't be TOO much of a problem. GL!
