why cant a police officer shake some ones hand while on duty ?

they can shake hands. it is a personal choice. there are no rules that tell them no to. i shook hands for 25 years

They CAN but usually won't. It's extremely unwise for a policeman to let someone get a firm grip on his weapon hand.

maybe it's cuz they don't want to be suspected 4 getting a bribe.
