In Portland Oregon, two 14 year old girls were involved in a gross public display of affection. Not just kissing, but deep kissing and heavy petting. So the people on the bus complained, and the driver asked them to stop, they didn’t, so off they went. Now HE’S in trouble for telling them to stop and kicking them! Am I the only one to think this is ludicrous? It’s not a gender/sexual preference thing either, THEY’RE 14! Where are their parents?!?

I am glad to see we mostly agree. But these girls are 14! Age matters! 18 – I don’t care, but at 14, you can’t even get a learners permit to drive, can’t be out past 10PM on a school night. FOURTEEN! They did it for attention, and he may lose his job.

I can see the point as to why the parents were upset. They were kicked off and they're 14, how else were they going to find their way home. However in saying that I think as14 year olds they should have more respect for those around them it doesn't matter who was doing it I would not want younger children exposed to that and I would not want to see that because I don't do that with my partner in public because it's just not etiquette. I do sympathise with the driver, I would have acted similarly. You ask where the parents are? Well the parents are the ones asking for the driver to be fired. Instead of admonishing their children for indulging in lewd behaviour they've decided to blame someone else and that's wrong.

I'm lesbian, and if their PDA was over the top i would have wanted them kicked off the bus too no matter what their sexual preference was. When i hear about these kinds of situations i always think (were there any little kids around) and on a public bus i would guess yes.

He shouldn't get fired just because these moral-less kids decided to play tonsil hockey in front of a crowd. He did the right thing.

**does NOT sound like gross PDA to me**

I really need to see the link to the story so I can decide for myself if it was indeed a "gross public display of affection."

14 year olds, male/female, male/male or female/female dont always use the best judgement. I wonder if it had been a male/female display if it would have been such a big deal?

Here we go:

PORTLAND, Ore. - Two gay teen girls who say they were kicked off a TriMet bus for being affectionate with each other are considering lodging a complaint against the driver of the bus.

Maika Rich and Jocelyn O'Neal, both 14, admit they were kissing while on the No. 12 bus traveling on Barbur Boulevard at about 5 p.m. on June 8. They were headed to the Sexual Minority Youth Recreation Center.

They say a female passenger complained to the driver about the kissing and that the driver told them to "knock it off" and also called them "sickos."

Rich says she then gave O'Neal a hug because it appeared she was upset about the exchange. They say at that point the driver stopped the bus and ordered them off.

Maika Rich's mother, Ronnda Zezula, says she doesn't think the driver would have treated two gay adults or a heterosexual couple in the same manner.

She says she had the girls take that particular bus so they would not have to make a transfer in an unfamiliar part of the city.

A TriMet spokesperson says it is the policy of the organization to never kick an underage or vulnerable person off a bus.

The girls say they would have stopped kissing if the driver had told them he might make them get off the bus before their destination.

TriMet says they are talking to the driver about the incident and an investigation is continuing.

The man was wrong to do it, if it were a 14 year old guy and girl nobody would of said anything or complained, the guy deserves to lose his job, he should realize he lives in a society that will totally shocking to anyone! They need to learn that love is real even if it's two men kissing or two women kissing.

personally i wouldn't have been offended if it was a peck on the cheek or lips but deep kissing and heavy petting no matter your sexual preference is a big no, no and no one wants to see that! but let's face it the girls wanted the attention of the nation and they got it. it seems to me though that gay's and bi's have enough discrimination without someone purposely drawing more negative attention to them and only alienating others against them. these girls wanted to cause an uproar and they got it...the only way to stop it from going further is to ignore them. like most hetero's most gay's would not have participated in such a blatant and immature display of affection just to get attention.

Well people shouldn't be doing that on public transport STRAIGHT OR GAY/LESBIAN! However a straight couple probably would have gotten away with it. It's obvious the bus driver was a jerk and he should be fired! they should sue the bus company for hate/discrimination. It's like kicking someone off becuase they are of a different race

I think that it's a good thing that the driver might lose his job. It's a violation of their rights, the two girls age is not a factor in the mater. So what the two kids were expressing themselves. That's what kids do.

This bus driver needs to be fired immediately. Not only is he lacking in respect and dignity for those different than himself, but he potentially endangered two underage girls. I would love to see this man end up behind bars. I hope the girls sue the city--I will contribute to their legal fund.

another example of absent parents and double standards.its just poor taste! these little girls are just using their sexual preference to grab headlines! the truth is they were wrong! the bus driver was right! someone should spank them and send them to their separate rooms! they need to learn being gay does not mean they can break rules and offend people ! how stupid does it get!
