I just returned from Disney World and Loved every moment of it. I just had one question, why do people insist on taking babies to Disney world??? I saw couples with infants (couldn't be more than 2 months old) walking around Disney with the poor child sweaty and sleepy. The strollers all around were terrible because all you could see were little children upset, crying, hot and fussy. I really think parents should consider waiting until their child(ren) is at least 5 years old to take them to Disney. I understand its a family place, but do they actually think their child will remember anything??

I know I wouldn't want to take a child that young to Disney. It is a lot of hassel for the parents and the kids don't enjoy it either. I definitely think a baby is too young. Once they are old enough to walk, I think it is a little different. I think that for families that go when the kids are really young, they mostly go so that they can see what the kids are like. I think the trip is more for the parents to remember the looks on their kids faces when they were able to see Mickey for the first time. It's those type memories they will keep forever. Once the kids are a little older you go with a completely different goal, this time for the kids to enjoy the park and the characters and rides and a trip that they will remember.

I'm sure people have explanations as to why they go with kids so young, but I still think it would be hard. I think some parents go because they have kids that are a little older and want to get them to Disney during the prime time (when Disney is still magical to them) and once the baby is older it won't mean the same thing. I go to Disney with a lot of people and many of my friends have kids, none of my friends take their babies unless they are taking their nanny or someone to take care of the kids. Usually the babies stay with someone in the room and may come out later in the day when it isn't so hot. Even my friends that have somebody to take care of the babies will often leave them at home so it isn't so much for their kids.

I don't really understand it, but maybe when you are a parent things are different. But, what do I know!

Glad to hear you had a good time!

I agree, I think what happens is alot of parents who take young kids to Disney world it's their first time going period and they don't really know what to expect. They think it will be great to take the kids to see Mickey and all their favorite characters but don't really realize how much the heat and just walking around Disney world can affect babies and toddlers.

I definitely think people should wait until their kids are a little older like at least 6 or 7 that way they can handle it better and everyone can have a better time. My parents took me to Disney world for the first time when I was 4 and I can barely remember anything from the trip. Then I went back a few more times when I was older and had a great time.
I know if I have kids I'm definitely not taking them until they are old enough to really enjoy and remember it.

I agree with you because it is not like they can go on the rides while holding little one's. I had a cousin who went to disney world when her baby was 5 months old and my husband and I thought that was pretty odd.

I waited till my kids were older and we just got back last feb and we had a wonderful time.

I agree 2 months is just to young if you don't keep the baby in the shade and dehydrated then its going to have a heat stroke i have seen it before. My family waits till the young ones are at least 2-3 before going and we make sure it is as comfortable for the baby as it is for us. If your going to take a baby under a year old go in October-November because it is not as hot and you have a better lines and weather.

I have noticed the same thing when I have gone. The thing is the heat in Florida isn't just heat.... its miserable. The humidity makes us feel hot and tired. I think the reson they do it is becuase they have other childran. Disney is a wonderful thing, but yes, they need to wait untill their kids can remember it to take them.

Yes, it's probably better at least if the kids are out of diapers so you don't have to haul a giant bag. I have read from the other side and people with kids want pictures with the kids and grandparents with characters and they love the lights and scenery.

Sometimes trips are planned before you get knocked up! Sometimes you have have older children who want to go. I am going in Feb and will have an 18 month old with me at that point. I do see how he won't remember anything, but he will still enjoy himself while he is there.

I think it's the parents who are the big kids.
This is irresponsible behaviour for parents.
