I would be very interested to know how many aren't, even though many consider they aren't, it seems they are. The middle class of society are disappearing as the gap between upper and lower class widens.

No, because there's no way to interview the homeless, migrant and transitory populace. They try counting people at homeless shelters (which reject up to 75% of people because there's no room) and at soup kitchens (is it the first time or every time?) and through the charities (which some people don't go to because they don't want the lectures and judgements of the workers) but there's just no way to include them all. Dividing them by religion would require low-income to declare their belief and how many will? For that matter, what do you consider low income? I have never in my long life, working good-paying jobs with benefits or living on the streets, ever come near the yearly income for the lowest site on the government scale.
To answer your question, though, I am Mormon, so put me in that category, please.

You probably won't find any studies that break down economic class by religious faith - my guess is that you could review local, state and federal government studies (visit the govenment document depository at your closest central library) and then you'd have to look for studies on various religious populations.

Talk to these churches and ask them.
Add up the total. Put many people to
work gathering the info. This would be
a big task. Good Luck. :)
