The *best* time to tell is between 22-24 weeks.
At 13 weeks it's very difficult but not always impossible, although the margin of error is pretty big.

While it's visable at that time, it's really hard to get a good view because the baby is still so small. The earliest I've heard anyone finding out the sex was 15 weeks, a girl. Usually the will do a later ultrasound as well. My doctor does one in the 1st trimester then another around week 20, I'm having mine right before I turn 18 weeks.

Between 16-20 weeks is when it becomes obvious on most babies. I have heard of women finding out the sex as early as 14 weeks, but it is much more accurate as you near 20 weeks. I had one at 12 weeks and saw nothing as far as gender goes...but a very cute little baby! They all start out with a little nub between their legs that either retracts to become the clitoris or enlarges to become the penis, but around 13-14 weeks is when the changes begint o occur...probably wouldn't be far enough along at 13 weeks...baby would only be about 3 inches long and the nub would probabyl still be there either way. Oh well. Enjoy your ultrasound either way! It's amazing!

13 weeks is too soon, they may try and take a guess. If you're having a 3D/4D ultrasound they MIGHT be able to take a better guess, but a 2D ultrasound won't pick up on the sex at 13 weeks. You probably won't know until you're about 18-20 weeks.
Good luck.

Unlikely. They can usually tell from about the earliest week 16, ideally week 19/20.
The babys genitals will be fully formed at 13 weeks, just too small to see via ultrasound.

They probably won't be able to tell at 13 weeks. I went in at 19 weeks, and the baby did not cooperate :( We should have been able to find out then, but the baby had its legs closed and its bottom towards us. They are supposed to schedule another one for me because they were unable to even get all of the measurements.
Be patient. When you are between 18 weeks and 24 weeks, they should be able to tell!

that is extremely achieveable at 15 weeks to appreciate the intercourse, if your infant is cooperative in the time of the ultrasound. Genitalia could properly be widespread as early as 12 weeks, so which you basically might discover out! Take care. that is such an spectacular factor, isn't it?

Usually, they will try and find out around weeks 17, sometimes the Dr.'s will wait till around week 19 or 20 just to make sure it is a "clearer" picture and by then things have developed more in that general area.

Between 18 and 20 weeks they can determine the sex of your baby(if it's co-operating) We just found out we are having a boy at 20 weeks and it was very clear to see.
Best of luck!
