They will remain limp, unless he does something positive and dramatic, but he won't.

all he needs is one real goof and that will not only seal his fate, but the GOP for 2008 as well.

One thing I love about Liberals is their uncanny ability to play both sides of the fence. If Bush's popularity rose, Liberals would ask, "Is Bush's ego so fragile that he has to play the opinion polls and vote accordingly? Shouldn't he have a little backbone?"

Remember, Jimmy Carter's ratings were dismally low EVEN THOUGH he was pandering to the huge Liberals base that voted him into office. At least Bush's popularity is honest; he doesn't pander to anyone. He has principles, and he sticks to them. Bush has the toughest, most thankless job in the world, and he has done a lot of good. Iraq hasn't gone as well as expected, but think about conflicts like WWII. We had battles like Iwo Jima where 7,000 soldiers could die in a single battle.

You really think popular opinion is the way to run the country? Ronald Reagan could never have won the Cold War if he had played a popularity contest.

They are still better than the current 14% approval rating for congress (the opposite of progress).

Jimmy Carter was a total idiotic president he did nothing for his country except to tell us to lower our expectations because our world couldn't get any better. His approval rating when he left office was about negative -500.
