My 1st test came back 170 my second test was 108 so they said I did not have it. After I had my baby I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. So the thing to be worried about is why is your body not using insulin proper. I asked my doc. if anyone drank that much sugar then their levels would be high too right? NOPE, not so at all a normal person preg. or not should be able to eat what ever the hell they want and their body should brake it down so if you levels are even on the higher side of normal that is a cause for concern because if it's 130 with just 1 soda chances are it would be much higher if you eat alot more sugar through out the day. What they did with me was they considered me border line. Give me nutritional info told me how to cut down my sugar so my body had enough time to brake down what I was eating. Most of the time other than watching what you eat you won't have a strict diet. But it is worth keeping an eye on.

A lot of women are protesting that gestational diabetes is a noncondition. Personally, I was tortured by care given under that title, gestational diabetes - I was told I'd deliver a second dead baby, told I'd have diabetes after the birth, etc. None of it was true. Because I wanted the best for my daughters, I gave myself sometimes six injections a day, and while my daughters were large, they've remained in the same height and weight brackets since birth. My "gestational diabetes" appears to have had little to no effect on their weight or height.
I found I had better luck metabolizing their drink after I'd eaten a conservative breakfast: two eggs and a slice of toast. My argument that I rarely *ever* eat 300 mg of sugar in a single meal went unanswered. Think about that part - that's like what, four candy bars or so? I think I once ate two, but I've never eaten four.
This is a condition where you need an advocate, really. You'll be told you have GD if you flunk any one portion of the test, no matter by how little. I was off by a single point in the middle of my test for my first pregnancy (blew it entirely with the twins). I think my threshold was also 130 but it's been just ages, and the GD diet's threshhold is 120 - even stricter, and they prefer 90!

Most people I know passed the 3 hours test after failing the 1 hour test, don't worry.

The OB i worked for used 130 as a flag that you could be at risk. It does not mean you are diabetic. Wait until you get your 3 hr GTT and just go from there.

the standard is 140. If above 140 then diabetes is suspected and more testing done.

I had the three hour test, they did not tell me the info you got, they did not tell me anything about numbers, just that I had to regulate my blood sugar with food and that I was pre-diabetic. Help with any info would be appreciated.
