No. Xanga maybe. I had a livejournal when I was 13. But Myspace is meant for people at least 16 years old, the main age group is 18-25, it's mostly high school and college kids. I got my myspace 3 years ago when I was 14 but it was much much different back then and now it's very unsafe for young kids who don't know what they're doing. Facebook was created specifically for college kids and is now open to high schoolers as well but 13 year olds should not be allowed to make a facebook.

I dont get why older people ask these questions because if you trust your kid you will let them be responsible for what they say and do on myspace, xanga, facebook. I think adults shouldnt have myspaces, facebooks, or xangas cause i think its a way for kids to keep in touch with there friends and make new ones

If the parents monitor what they are doing and they are set at private, then I think it is ok. Both of my kids have a myspace page (ages 12 & 15) so they can express themselves and talk to friends. I also have one so that I can get on and monitor what they are doing. All of their friends that have one also accept me as a friend and I can see what they are doing. I have talked to a few of them about some inappropriate things I have seen and they actually liked the fact that someone is watching out for them. Parents just need to talk to their kids about the dangers of the internet and that people will lie to get what they want.

I don't think it's a problem if it's monitored and parents take the time to teach kids what could happen. As long as the parents keep an eye on the kid's internet usage. I don't mean anything like reading e-mails, but just knowing what sites they access. Predators are out there whether you are on these sites or not. They could just as well attack them at a day care, boy scouts, or little league.

Nope. Other than the obvious problem of pedophiles, kids, (yes, you ARE a kid at 12-13-14,) should be outside, hanging with friends, socializing, learning How to socialize, generally, be a kid.
At 13 and under, the only "networking" you should be doing, is in regards to homework.

No. I think it isn't appropriate for any child under the age of 18 because of all the sexual predators on Myspace. There is serious talk about making Myspace a pay service, and you have to 18 to join. Hopefully, they will.

No way. Even though Myspace was original created for high school kids, 70% of the people on there are adults in their 30s and 40s. Way too many pediphiles on there. Last I checked, it was 678 registered sex offenders who was on Myspace.

Anyone older with an account on myspace, facebook or xanga would have to have absolutely no life, so I suppose someone's got to use it.

NO I DONT. sheesh my little sister is like 9-10 and she has a myspace. gosh i dont need predators on her. and they dont know any better. Older teens /adults can tell when the predator is asking for personal information, little kids think its just a friendly person. ITS BAD! =O [im 17]

They all have rules against it, so that would be clue number one that it's inappropriate.

I think it should be age 21 because teenagers like to put all their business on the internet and that's inappropriate. If you're riding on the bus and someone starts shouting personal information about themselves, do you feel comfortable? Well, that's what it's like to see your personal information online. The only people interested in knowing that stuff are the perps.
