educated in the fields of.......
editing, lighting, sound, salaries, production, storyline.
vs. a jump shot, hops, tall.

They are both hard but being an NBA player you kind of need talent. You can go to school learn how to become a director as long as you have the money pay for it. Both requires a little of luck though.

NBA player, because there is a need for a god given talent. A 5'7" guy with no athletic skills will never be in the NBA, while he could be perfectly capable of directing a movie.

Neither is that bad, but if you are an Hollywood director, people won't be in your personal life as much, ie Kobe Bryant.

NBA, hollywood director would be easy cause I would only direct pornos. :) seriously, thats all I would do.
