I really didn't have a very good day, at least not until you showed up and made me smile.

After waking up this morning feeling "better" than I have in a week, my day at the office went to hell in a handbasket, and was beyond frustrating. So I came home, hoping that the ache of loss wouldn't hit as hard as it has the last few days, and lost myself in pointless T.V. until my butt went numb.
Then I open my blog page, to find a very sweet, sincere and uplifting testimonial in my mailbox, from a very good friend. *smiles*
That was the highlight of my day, in a month that has proven itself over and over, in too may ways, to be the most difficult month of the year.

Well, it's only 4:25 a.m., so I figure you mean yesterday, right? The highlight was hearing Bryan & Vanessa at the door. They were coming to take me for dinner at Cracker Barrel. Now I like dinner at Cracker Barrel, and I like the chance to shop in their little gift shop, but dinner was not really the emotional highlight. Greeting my dear friends (my kids, really; the son & future daughter-in-law of my best friend) was really the moment.
The turkey and dressing and sweet potato casserole and corn bread muffin were OK, too.

Watching the Rockies sweep the Yankees at Coors Field today. After all these years, I finally got to see Roger Clemens pitch in person.

Today was....dollar day for ice cream at Laura Secord.
The second scoop was only one buck.
I had pralines and cream.
