No, the Bush War of Terror on Iraq was never a good idea. The Iraqi military and police are already heavily infiltrated by insurgents. There will be no victory.

If you mean the US military, they are not arming insurgents. The Iraqi government is getting Sunni muslims to participate in the government and in the military. That is a good thing. It shows signs of possible cooperation.

why wonder? did we have any kind of strategy before?
but if we are arming the Iraqi Nationalists the it might be an idea... or call it a starting point
It is not working to support the succeeded governments of Iraq, so why not try supporting the opposition

I'd be happy if we decided to just let them kill each other. That would require us leaving.
We armed Al-Qiada, we armed Hussein, no reason to think we wouldn't arm the insurgents.

The politicos who think it's a great idea should deliver the weapons and hang out for about a week in a hot zone.

Well, from what I got out of it, our generals are concerned, but it might be the only way to demolish Al-Qaida. But there is the concern that it will backfire. But just like in life, you have to take chances to be successful. So I'm all for it.

we armed Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein before, and that turned out just fine!

NO! The next person they shoot at with those weapon's will be us....But what do you expect from this bunch? They have not done anything smart in seven years.
