If you were starving...?

Question

you had no access to any food whatsoever and all there was to eat was a turtle, how would you prepare it? Or would you eat yourself?

First, I would not eat myself. Considering I have the tools, I would open the shell with a saw, and clean the turtle. Get rid of the intestines, stomach, and esophagus, cut the nails. If the turtle has eggs place them apart and boil them. Next, boil the turtle with a pinch of salt and garlic for at least two hours (this is because turtles limbs move even after introduced to the boiling water, and you wanna make sure is dead before eating it)

Then I would cut the tail, legs and buttocks into small pieces and season it with rosemary, garlic and olive oil, and saute it along with some veggies, onions, and celery as turtles have very little meat despite their size (tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli).

Some wine, preferably white Zinfandel would be awesome with this food..

I'd need a stick, a knife, water, a pan, and a little salt. Drag the turtle's head out by making it bite the stick, cut the head off (make sure the blood goes into the water. Plenty of protein in blood). Wait for it to stop moving a bit. Cut it open around the lower part of the shell/legs, pull the shell off, take out the intestines, stomach, lungs and such (liver and heart are fine), cut out the meat, dump it into the bloody water, pour a little salt, boil it, and voila.

I absolutely adore turtles. To me it'd be like eating my pet dog.

I wouldn't eat myself. If there was a turtle, there would be water and fish. I'd have a hard time killing fish too, but I think I could do that easier than a turtle.

why would anyone eat themselves when there was a turtle around? And why doesn't a turtle constitute as food? anyway, everyone knows you cook the turtle over the fire and eat it.

There would still have to be grass because that is what would be keeping the turtle alive so I would eat the grass because if it was just me and a turtle, I would have to keep him so I would have somebody to talk to.

Bear Grills said to stick a sharp object into it through the shell
and then cooked it over an open fire with the shell intact.
When it is finished the shell will crumple off easily.

As i can't cook,the thought of a turtle would turn me.I would rather eat grass or die.
